About the Artist:

I grew up in Philadelphia
where I developed my
woodworking skills at a young
age. When I was a teenager,
I worked for plumbers,
bricklaters, and home
remodelers. I was lucky enough
to have a mentor that helped
me get started with
woodworking.

My curiosity, creativity, and mechanical inclination drove me to study engineering at California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo, where I graduated with a degree in Materials Engineering. I have worked hard to put myself through college by working various construction jobs and teaching martials arts. After graduation, I worked as an integration engineer for a high tech company. I then moved into working ceramics as a product engineer.

a product engineer.Once I got my first job, I started collectin the necessary power tools to build my own workshop. I purchased a VL300 Vicmarc short lathe and began to learn the art of turning wood, which I have fallen in love with. I continued to learn woodworking and engineering for several years and have finally decided to combine these two talents and start elegant Wood Works. I wake up every morning and truly love going to work.
